A position has become available on Lake Heights Farms Ltd, which is part of the T.H. Enterprises group. The Dairy Support Assistant Manager/2IC will support the Dairy Support Manager in the day‑to‑day management of the dairy support farm land. Lake Heights runs dairy calves, dairy heifers, and bulls, with numbers reaching up to 2,000 head of stock, and these blocks also supply silage and winter grazing to two of our dairy farms.
Responsibilities include assisting with the animal health plan, weighing stock, meeting growth targets, drenching programmes, following the fertiliser plan and applications, pasture management and feed levels, maintaining water supply, pest and weed control, and general farm and machinery maintenance. The role also involves carrying out farm plans set by the Operations Manager and providing reliable backup when the Dairy Support Manager is off‑farm. A good working farm dog/dogs would be an advantage.
Applicants must have at least five years of farming experience and be a New Zealand resident.
