Permanent - Part time Farm Assistant

Job Description

The job & daily responsibilities will include:
  • Milking
  • Calving/Rearing
  • Animal health checks and general herd care
  • Feeding and basic farm maintenance
  • Tractor and machinery operation (experience preferred)
  • Beyond the routine dairy work, there is plenty of improvement and fixer-upper work
  • On-farm accommodation provided
  • A schedule resembling 4 days on, 3 days off (calving season will look more like 6&1)
We’re looking for a couple (or individual) who are positive and patient with an ability to work independently. Experience with fencing and tractor work is preferred and must also have respect for animals, equipment, and property.

About Kaupati Farms Ltd

Small family farm between Waimana and Nukuhou focused on animal health and happiness above most other things.


90ha farm with about a third of that being flat or rolling, the rest is hills.

Peak herd size of around 180 cows milked in a 16 cup herringbone shed on Twice a day milking until December then switch to once a day. Only supplement feed is our own silage. About 40 heifer calves reared every season with R2s grazed off farm.
