Experienced Dairy Farm Team Member Wanted.
We are a husband-and-wife team in our second year of sharemilking on our 180Ha family farm milking 430 cows. We are a very family-friendly farm and believe in working together as a team. We don't put too much emphasis on job titles-everyone pitches in and plays an important part. However, we are looking for someone with at least 3-4 years of dairy farming experience who is confident enough to take responsibility for the farm when we are off farm.
We are looking for someone who is confident across all aspects of dairy farming and takes pride in doing a good job.
Essential Skills Include:
Pasture management, confident on a tractor and other machinery, confident on both 2&4 wheelers, producing high-quality milk, good animal husbandry skills, the ability to identify and treat mastitis, the ability to identify and treat lame cows, good attention to detail and a proactive approach to farm work.
The Success applicant will be :
Honest and trustworthy, reliable and hardworking, positive, willing to get stuck in, confident working independently when required, someone who takes pride in their work and will treat the farm as their own.
A little more about the farm:
We milk through a 50-bail rotary shed with cup removers, auto teat sprayer, walk over scales and automatic drafting linked with Halter.
This position could suit a couple, with the possibility of additional part-time work being available.
We offer a competitive salary, negotiable depending on experience, a 3-bedroom house on farm, a beautiful location just a few minutes from the beach and a friendly, supportive, family-oriented working environment and the opportunity to be an important part of our farm team.
We take health and safety seriously and expect everyone on our farm to do the same. We are a Smoke and Vape-Free farm/business.
We are not an accredited employer, so unfortunately, we are unable to support visa applications. Applicants must currently be living in New Zealand and be a resident or hold a valid New Zealand resident visa.
If you think you'll fit in well on our farm we'd love to hear from you.
