Currently we have a great team, and we are now seeking a person to come and fill the role of assistant farm manager/2IC because after 5 years with us, our current 2IC has decided to step up into a manager’s role on another farm, we are very happy though as they received all of their training from us having started as a dairy farm assistant.
Our new 2IC must have good solid experience with all aspects of running a farm, so milking, animal husbandry, fencing, irrigation (we have 2 pivots and K-Lines), tractor driving, pasture management and managing staff. We do love to train but right now we need a 2IC that can hit the ground running and be mature and responsible enough to be able to manage the farm in our absence. Having great communication skills is essential as well as a strong work ethic and be a great team player.
A starting salary of around $75k plus accommodation will be negotiated depending on experience and there exceptional on farm accommodation. We all get along really well, we like to have a laugh as it makes the day brighter but we also know how to work together to get the job done.
We also offer a very health and safety conscious workplace, our 5/2 roster (6/1 over calving) ensures everyone has a healthy work life balance.
