Farm Assistant/Assistant Manager

Farm Assistant – 980 Cow Dairy Farm | South Waikato

Due to our previous staff member making the decision to change careers, we have an opportunity for a reliable and motivated Farm Assistant to join our team on our 980-cow dairy farm in the South Waikato.

We’re looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a team, takes pride in their work and wants to be involved in all aspects of a busy dairy operation.

The role

Day-to-day duties will include:

• Milking
• Bringing cows in and general stock work
• Setting up and shifting break fences
• Calf and young stock work when required
• Shed and farm cleaning
• General farm maintenance
• Assisting with animal health and seasonal farm work
• Working alongside the wider team to keep the farm running smoothly

We operate a 6 days on / 2 days off roster, giving you regular time off throughout the season.

About you

We’re looking for someone who:

• Is reliable and turns up ready to work
• Has a positive attitude and works well within a team
• Is confident around livestock
• Can work independently when required
• Takes pride in animal welfare and farm standards
• Communicates well
• Has a current NZ driver’s licence

Previous dairy farming experience would be preferred, but attitude and reliability are just as important. We’re happy to consider someone who is keen to learn and genuinely wants to build their farming skills.
