Job Description

We are looking for a motivated Dairy Farm Assistant to join our progressive farming team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone wishing to develop their skills within a modern, farming business.

About the Role

As a Dairy Farm Assistant, you'll work alongside an experienced team and be involved in the day-to-day running of our dairy operation. Milking 380 cows in a 30 aside herringbone.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Milk harvesting and maintaining high milking standards.
  • Shed hygiene and ensuring the dairy is clean and well presented.
  • Animal health observations and reporting.
  • Assisting with stock movements and general livestock care.
  • General farm duties and maintenance.
  • Working as part of a team to achieve high standards of animal welfare, production, and farm presentation.

What We're Looking For

The successful applicant will have:

  • At least one full season of New Zealand dairy farming experience.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • A strong work ethic and reliability.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team or independently 
  • A genuine interest in developing a long-term career in the dairy industry.

In search of a keen reliable worker to milk 300cows in a 30 aside herringbone shed. Situated approx. 15mins from Palmerston North or Feilding. Single self contained unfurnished accommodation available on Farm or willing to travel.
