We have farmed our stunning family owned and operated 430 cow dairy farm is set on 200 Ha of beautiful flat land just minutes from the township of Ikamatua for five generations. In May this year we suffered a huge family loss. With wonderful support from our community and special fixed term staff, as a family we have been able to dry off, look after our precious 430-cow herd and welcome our beautiful calves.
Now we're ready to bring an experienced Manager onto the team for the long term. We're looking for the right person to come alongside our 20-year-old son– to mentor him, share your experience, and help him keep growing – while also taking your lead from him day to day, because at the end of the day; this wonderful young Kiwi bloke is now our Farm Manager.

You'll work alongside our son day to day, with open communication and trust at the heart of the working relationship. He's hands-on, passionate about the farm and always keen to learn, and we're looking for someone who will back him and guide him while bringing their own strong dairy experience to the table.
Milking, feeding out and break fencing, shed and dairy hygiene, and the early identification and treatment of mastitis, lameness and bloat will all be part of the role, along with calving, mating and general seasonal work, and day-to-day farm maintenance (fencing, water leaks, shed upkeep). A genuine, practical understanding of pasture and seasonal cow management is important, and you'll need to be a confident, competent tractor driver.
We're after someone with solid, long-term dairy farming experience who takes instruction well but is also comfortable using their own initiative. We're still finding our feet with Halter ourselves, so prior experience with the collars is a bonus rather than a requirement – we'd genuinely enjoy learning it together. Above all, we want someone reliable, well organised, respectful of our vehicles and gear and a good fit with our small, close-knit team – someone who will treat our animals and our farm the way we do.
