Experienced General Farm Hand

This is a full-time position with an immediate start. The duration is currently unknown, it is a temporary role but could be permanent for the right candiate. For the right candiadte, accommodation is included.

Please note: This is not an entry-level role. Applicants must have previous farm hand and machinery operation experience and be confident working independently.

Our client runs a 500ha Arable and mixed cropping farm, located in Barhill (50km North of Ashburton), they produce wheat, barely and white clover among other things. 

Duties include: 

• Tractor driving
• Moving irrigators
• Fertiliser spreading
• General sheep and cattle work
• Assisting with a range of day-to-day farm duties

Hours: Monday to Friday 7:30am start until the day's work is complete
Occasional weekend work may be required during busy periods

To be successful, you must:

• Have previous farm hand experience (essential)
• Be confident driving tractors and operating farm machinery
• Able to use GPS and other technology
• Hold a full, current driver's licence
• Heavy Traffic Licences would place your application at an advantage
• Have experience working with sheep and cattle
• Be physically fit, heathly and comfortable working outdoors
• Have reliable transport to travel to the Barrhill area
• Be reliable, hardworking, and able to work unsupervised
