Dairy Farm Assistant Wanted
Location: Ashley Clinton – Central Hawkes Bay
Position: Full-Time
We are looking for a dedicated and reliable Dairy Farm Assistant to join our team on a busy, well-established dairy farm with a 370-cow milking herd.
Key Responsibilities:
- Milking Assistance: Support in milking using a 30-side Herringbone milking shed.
- Animal Health: Assist with monitoring the health and well-being of our herd, including feeding, treating, and maintaining a clean environment.
- Farm Maintenance: Help set up and maintain fences, move K-line and lateral irrigation, and assist with general farm maintenance.
- Feeding: Assist with feeding out and ensuring animals have access to quality feed and water.
- Run-off: Assist at dairy support run-off nearby.
Requirements:
- A good sense of humour and attitude.
- Minimum of Restricted Driver’s License and reliable transport (essential).
- Must have your own accommodation.
- Must be eligible to work in NZ.
- Previous experience in dairy farming or a related field preferred.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Comfortable with early starts, physical work, and working in all weather conditions.
Roster:
- 6 on, 2 off schedule.
- 7 on, 1 off during peak calving weeks only.
Remuneration:
- Dependent on experience.
- 2 Bedroom cottage available 2-3km from farm.
