Job Description

We are looking for a reliable and motivated Farm Assistant to join our team.

This role will suits someone who enjoys working with animals, takes pride in doing a job well, and can work as part of a team in a busy farm environment.

What we offer

  • 5 on, 2 off roster for most of the season
  • 3 on, 1 off roster during calving
  • Work in a 50-bale rotary shed
  • Modern farm technology including:
    • Automatic cup removers
    • Automatic teat spray
    • Protrack drafting system

Key duties

  • Milking and shed operations
  • Animal health and general stock work
  • Calving assistance during the calving season
  • Cleaning and maintaining the dairy shed and equipment
  • Feeding and general farm duties
  • Assisting with pasture and farm maintenance as required

What we’re looking for

  • A strong work ethic and positive attitude
  • Good animal handling skills
  • Ability to work early mornings and flexible hours during busy periods
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
  • Attention to detail and a focus on animal welfare
  • Previous dairy farming experience is preferred, but the right attitude is essential

The ideal applicant

The ideal candidate will have 1 full year of experience, be dependable, honest, and keen to learn. They will be comfortable working in a physically demanding role and committed to maintaining high standards in milk quality, cleanliness, and animal care.
