Assistant Manager / 2IC Galatea, BOP - immediate start
Our client is seeking an Assistant Manager / 2IC for their autumn calving property located in Galatea, BOP.
The 256 effective hectare property operates as a Dairy NZ system 2 - 3, milking 340 cows through a 30 ASH with in-shed feed system and automatic cup removers.
Young stock are reared and grazed on farm for part of the season and a range of crops are grown including maize, turnips and lucerne.
The position reports to the Farm Manager and as part of a team of two, this allows an opportunity to get hands on experience at variety of dairy farming tasks.
As the 2IC, you will also be required to step up and be responsible for the daily operation of the dairy unit on a regular basis.
This role requires prior dairy farming experience, the ability to drive a tractor and operate a side by side are essential.
Tidy, single accommodation is available if required.
All applicants must be NZ citizens and physically in New Zealand or have the appropriate current visa to work in NZ.
The farm is currently advertised for sale, therefore the role will be for a fixed term or remuneration will be on an hourly basis.
