Join our team on a well-structured dairy farm milking roughly 560 cows. We operate an efficient 40-bail herringbone. There will always be two people milking together as we have no automatic cup removers.This is a drive-in position, making it perfect for someone who already lives locally or prefers to commute and maintain their own off-farm housing. We are looking for a reliable, motivated Dairy Farm Hand to assist with day-to-day operations. You will work alongside the contract milker to maintain high standards of animal welfare and milk quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Milking: Assist with efficient, high-quality milking in the 40-bail herringbone.
- Animal Health: Monitor herd health, identify mastitis, and assist with treatments.
- Stock Management: Shift breaks, break fencing, and move stock calmly.
- Farm Maintenance: General weed control, fence repairs, and keeping the shed clean.
What We Are Looking For
- Previous dairy farming experience is preferred, but a great attitude and willingness to learn are essential.
- Punctual, reliable, and physically fit.
- Ability to work well in a small team and take direction.
- Clean driver's license and own reliable transport to commute to the farm daily.
