About the Role:
We are looking for a motivated and reliable Farm assistant to join our 509ha dairy farm in Franz Josef, milking 800 cows through a 60 bale rotary. You’ll work closely with the farm manager and a team (4 full-time staff + a calf rearer), with a roster of 11 days on, 3 days off.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with milking, animal health, and general farm management.
Treat sick/infected animals and maintain high animal welfare standards.
Help maintain farm gear and equipment.
Work alongside a team
Assist with calf rearing during calving season.
Ensure farm health and safety protocols are followed.
Skills & Experience:
1-2 years of dairy farming experience (or transferable skills).
Competent in milking and basic animal care.
Strong work ethic, honesty, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and within a team.
Must be eligible to work in New Zealand.

We milk 400 cows through a 25 aside herringbone cowshed. Halter Collars used for fencing and mating. Work with a team of 3 people to keep the farm ticking over.
