We are looking for one Dairy Farm Assistant to perform daily tasks on our farm such as herding and milking cattle. This role involves various responsibilities to ensure the health and productivity of the dairy cattle. It’s a system 5 farm, located in Waikato. This farm is based on full Computerized System. Basic computer knowledge is required for this role. In addition, this farm has split calving, so cow’s milk all over the years. The person who has passion and ready to face challenges, this job is suits to them.
Job Descriptions
Title: Dairy Farm Assistant
Herding cattle to and from milking sheds.
Vat washing and calf feeder washing and plant washing.
Attaching milking machines to udders and milking cows.
Providing livestock with feed and water.
Ensuring sufficient feed is available by moving cattle between paddocks.
Assisting with maintaining the health and welfare of livestock.
Reporting on the condition of livestock.
Cleaning stables and milking sheds.
Performing minor repairs on fixtures, buildings, and fences.
Operating general farm machinery.
Operate technical equipment’s of farm
Calf rearing, calf feed, calf health check and monitor their health regularly.
Spraying weeds time to time
Drafting the sick cows.
Make differentiate between healthy and sick cows like Penicillin, Mastitis and lame cows.
Bring the cows to Herd home/ Feed Pad, lock them, healthy herd and sick cows lock different.
Prepare the mix wagon and keep ready for Farmer.
Requirements:
Minimum 1 years experience in dairy farming is required.
Class 1 License is must.
May required drug Test.
Have clean police record.
