We are looking for a Herd Manager to join us next season, Milking 450 kiwi cross cows 5 minutes drive from Featherston. We are a contract milking couple in our 4th season on this farm with a good working relationship with the farm owners. Farm is equipped with a tidy 40 bale rotary with cup removers, auto teat spraying and in shed feeding, the farm is partially irrigated by a mix of center pivot, k-line and long lateral irrigation.  The farm has recently expanded by 30 hectares, and we are looking for someone who can take on the day to day management of the herd. Must be comfortable working independently and in a small team.  Ideally you will have 2 to 3 years experience in pasture based dairying. This is a drive in position. The farm is located only 5minutes south of Featherston. Looking for a reliable relief milker to milk 330 cows through a 40 bail rotary shed with brand new auto cup removers. In shed feeding so good cow flow, milking takes only 2 hours including the wash in afternoons. Experience preferred but not essential. Regular afternoon milkings are available. The ability to work sole charge on the odd occasion is preferable, however not essential as willing to train the right person. Other farm work can be available if desired such as weed spraying, general maintenance, cleaning. Milking is at 2pm in afternoons. Can work days and extra hours to suit.
