We require a Dairy Farm Assistant for our pivot/rotorainer irrigated dairy farm; rotary dairy.  We are owner operators with two other experienced staff employed also. Must have some livestock experience, preferably 1-2 years dairy, and good communication skills.  We operate a pasture based farming system, therefore experience with break fencing is required Dairy Hygiene is very important, we have a low SCC mostly Ayrshire herd We have a 80 ha runoff, 8 km from the dairy farm irrigated by pivot Our cows are quiet and friendly. If you don't enjoy patting cows and talking to them, this job is possibly not for you.  

We are looking for a Herd Manager for the upcoming dairy season, the farm is located in the Mayfield/Carew Area. The Herd Manager will support the Management Team in the daily operation of our 600 cow farm, and at times maybe required to take the lead. The farm is fully spray irrigated with a 40 ASHB Shed with Protrak and EZ-Heat.  You need to have excellent communication skills, be willing to learn and be an active team member as well as have the ability to work unsupervised. It is important that you are trustworthy and honest.  You must have great stockmanship skills, be competent working machinery and have an eye for detail. Applicants must have experience working in the New Zealand Dairy Farming Industry with a minimum of two years full time dairy farm experience in New Zealand.  Applicants must have a New Zealand Drivers Licence and be able to pass a drug test if required.
