Hi We are looking for a calf rearer over the busy winter and spring months to look after all aspect of calf rearing. Duties will include but not limited to: Feeding calves twice a day for 4 days then transfer to OAD Treating sick calves Organising bobby calves for truck Feeding calves outside on feeder Feeding grain and hay to calves. We offer a supportive working environment, good infrastructure and gear and accomodation for right applicant. We rear maximum 200 replacement heifers and 120 beef calves. There will be ongoing relief milking throughout the season if desired.

We are looking for a Calf Rearer that can also milk the cows.  This is primarily a calf rearing/ milking position but you can be more involved on farm if you like. There will also be a full dairy assistant job come available after calving has finished.  We have a tidy farm set up, milking 500 cows through a 2 person, 40 bale herringbone shed. Irrigation is via a pivot and fixed sprinklers.  A tidy three bedroom house is available on farm, that has a heatpump, logburner, open plan living and attached carport.  We are located just 5mins from Culverden and we have a great friendly team on farm. Roster is 6 and 2 over calving, 8 and 2, 8 and 3 for rest of season.  We are looking for someone that can work well independently and in a team, has experience with animals and shows initiative.  

Looking for someone to help on farm with calf rearing . this job will be suitable to someone who lives in Gore area.  Rearing 200 replacements and caring for bobby calves until they leave farm.  Based in Waimumu, gore, 10 minutes drive form gore.  great hourly rate for right candidate. this is a drive in position for approximately 2 and 1/2 months from start of august.  there is work available for someone who's keen to some relief milking throughout the year.  Drive in position.

We are looking for a senior Calf Rearer for this Spring 2025 Experience is a must as you will be in charge of looking after our calves. We are LOSM 500 spring calving cows, we target 130 heifer replacements and 150 white face beef calves. It is our 4th year on the farm and have really good infrastructure and modern equipment. We are a 800 cow dairy farm located in Western Southland seeking 2 calf rearers to join our team of 4 on farm staff. Our farm will rear 160 heifer replacements, 120 will be fed on a JFC automatic calf machine and the other 40 along with beef calves will be feed on a 50 teat calfateria . You will be required to carry out the normal daily routine of sorting and feeding calves as well as maintaining a high level of cleanliness in all sheds and feeding equipment. 1 -2 seasons experience is preferred but not necessary basic background knowledge and understanding in farming is a must. Full training and safety around calves will be provided. Please note you must be living in New Zealand to be eligible for this roll.

We are looking for a drive in calf-rearer for this coming season to help with all responsibilities involving making sure our calves are well fed and cared for. We raise approximately 100 calves who are housed in sound and well maintained sheds, while following good established feeding and hygiene procedures. This is not a sole role so there will be some assistance from other team members. This position is available from approximately the end of July for 8-10 weeks. There is the opportunity to also assist as a farm hand i.e. milking, bringing in calves etc if you are interested to help cover staff days off during calving which could lead to a permanent part time position, this is negotiable. With modern calf rearing sheds, and good systems in place, you will be responsible for ensuring that calves are well fed and looked after.
