A position has become available on our 680 cow, 54 bail rotary shed, based in the beautiful Hurunui District town of Rotherham. the local school ( yr 0-6) is just 2km up the road. Culverden is 10min car drive away with a local area school, grocery store and other small town shops. Hanmer Springs is just a 30 minute drive North with the beautiful hot pools, endless hiking and mountain biking at your door.  Our job is for someone who has an eye for detail, enjoys working by them selves or within a team, and takes pride in the farm and cow shed.  we are currently into our 7th season contract milking on the family farm. The farm milks 1400 cows through a rotary shed, split calving spring 1000 cow and Autumn 400 cows.   Farm have winter barns and cows stays barn at winter. we run a 6 on 3 off roster except August we running 6 on 1 off roster. We are looking for a herd manager to join our team. Farm is located in Hinds, just off the main road.  Hinds School, a preschool and play centre is only 5 mins down the road. Experience is essential with a minimum of 2 years as herd manager. Good animal husbandry is essential and must be able to work well in a team.  Be able to ride a 2 wheeler Must be able to pass a preemployment drug test. We peak milk 1250 cows through a 70 bail rotary shed with protrack and we have halter on the farm aswell. We are looking for Herd manager to assist with running our 630 cow farm in Culverden. You main duties will be milking, cleaning cowshed, fencing, feeding calves, weed control, riding motorbike and other farm duties. One year of NZ dairy experience is a minimum and lvl4+ ITO qualification or similar Agriculture training is compulsory. Our candidate must be physically fit as manual work and heavy lifting may be required and be ready to wake up at 4am and work after 5pm if circumstance requires (with regular breaks). You also need to be ready to work weekends and holidays as required per your roster. Accommodation on farm provided so you need to have your own reliable transport due to the remote location of workplace. Weekly hours will be between 40-60 depending on part of the year. Candy Dairy Ltd  We are looking for a motivated person to fill a drive in relief milking position on our farm 25 mins from Timaru 15 mins to Plesant point and 25 to Fairlie. This position will be around 20 to 25 hrs a week. We milk 800 cows through a 54 bail rotary shed using halter to bring cows in.
