We are seeking an experienced farm manager to join our team. Our current manager is heading overseas so we are starting our search now. The farm is local to Gore. The farm milks 800 cows through a rotary shed, we run a 5 on 2 off roster. 3 other full timers on farm plus seasonal calf rearer.  We are looking for someone that is motivated, reliable, good communication and can be a good role model to the team.   Previous farm management experience a must.  The role will include making pasture management decisions, management of the cowshed, managing the other staffs day to day, delegating jobs etc working with farm supervisor. Professional development encouraged.  Accomodation is a warm 4 bedroom home, fire, heat pump, double glazing.  Salary will depend on experience happy to negotiate If this interests you at all please get in touch. Hey guys have a couple of positions available on our 990 cow farm in riverton southland. Modern cowshed with all the goodies.  Looking for 2-3 full time staff for this season. Couple of houses available. Must be competent in animal health, pasture managment, working while owner is away. And general managment of a farm this size. If this sound like you please apply. Due to unforeseen circumstances and having two people pull out on us we are on the hunt for another person to join our small team before the upcoming calving. We are looking for an experienced herd manager. This position will be split working between two farms 2 minutes apart. Both farms run a system 4. We are extremely passionate about our stock and strive for the best results both in production and animal health as well as maintaining a general high standard of farm upkeep and tidiness. Both farms milk around 450 Friesian cows through modern 40 aside herringbone and 50 bail rotary cow sheds. We are looking for a Dairy Farm Assistant to join a 480-cow farm in the Edendale area, milking through a 40-aside herringbone shed. Experience is preferred but not required for this role. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: Milking twice a day shifting cows and feeding  fencing, weed control calving, calf rearing shed cleaning and setup identifying and alerting managers to sick cows Setting fences and other general farm duties. Weekly hours are a minimum of 30 and a maximum of 55. Since farm work is dependent on a number of unknown factors like weather and animals, any hours worked beyond the agreed maximum in a fortnightly pay period will be paid   at the agreed overtime rate.
