We have a position available for a Dairy Farm Assistant on a 1,000-cow farm in Masterton, milking through a 60 Bail Rotary shed. Experience is preferred but not required for this role. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: Milking twice a day shifting cows and feeding  fencing, weed control calving, calf rearing shed cleaning and setup identifying and alerting managers to sick cows Setting fences and other general farm duties. Weekly hours are a minimum of 40 and a maximum of 55. Since farm work is dependent on a number of unknown factors like weather and animals, any hours worked beyond the agreed maximum in a fortnightly pay period will be paid at the agreed overtime rate. Farm description: -54 bale rotary, ACR's, auto draft -950 cows peak milk -system 2 farm system -285ha effective, flat to rolling, forestry conversion -OAD from christmas onward - roster 8:2 from July to October, then we move to 11:3  Farm is a forestry conversion completed in the 2000’s so infrastructure is all fairly modern and highly functional.
