Looking for herd manager to work on 440 cow farm near Temuka. Succesful applicant will be able to take responsibility for milking, animal health, shed hygiene and shed records, as well as have a good understanding of the workings of a farm, get the job done and problem solve as required. Must have drivers license and pass drug testing, prefer 2 years experience or relevent study qualifications

We are looking for a herd manager that has at least 2 years of herd manager experience. Must be in the country and have a valid visa. We are putting on halter this winter. We peak milk 1250 cows in a 70 bail rotary shed. Must be patient and have good animal husbandry, able to communicate well, and work well in a team.  You must be able to ride a 2 wheeler. Responsibilities include, but not limited to milking, cleaning, feeding out, tractor work, pasture management, using halter. Farm is located 5 mins south of Hinds, Ashburton. Close to the school, preschool and playcentre. 3 bedroom house will be provided as well as wet weather gear.  Good remuneration, this will be discussed at interview.

We are looking for a dynamic farm assistant to complete our team of 3 staff plus contract milker on our well maintained south canterbury dairy farm. The farm is flat and mainly pivot irrigated with a very efficient 54-bale rotary shed. The Jersey herd is milked TAD until February, then 3 in 2. The cows are performing well and high standards across the farm are in place.  There are great training opportunities for the right applicant, and there is a great condition house available too. We have a Dairy Farm Assistant role available on a 1600-cow farm in the Ealing area, milking through a 58 and 62 Bail Rotary shed. Experience is preferred but not required for this role. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: - Milking twice a day - shifting cows and feeding  - fencing, weed control - calving, calf rearing - shed cleaning and setup - identifying and alerting managers to sick cows - Setting fences - and other general farm duties. Weekly hours are a minimum of 30, with an average of 45 and a maximum of 50. Since farm work is dependent on a number of unknown factors like weather and animals, any hours worked beyond the agreed maximum in a fortnightly pay period will be paid   at the agreed overtime rate.   The schedule may vary; Roster will be 6 days on, 2 days off throughout the year.
