We are searching for an enthusiastic and motivated farm assistant to join our team of 5 on an 1100 cow dairy farm located 10 minutes from Rakaia, 20 minutes from Rolleston which both provide excellent access to amenities and social/sports clubs and facilities. Ashburton, Methven and Christchurch are also within 40 minutes of the farm.  Key Responsibilities include: Milking cows efficiently in a 54-bail rotary with ACR's and auto teat spray. Animal health monitoring. Assisting with calving, calf rearing, and mating. Assisting with daily feed allocation. 2-Wheel motorbike operation. The Role We are looking for a strong Farm Assistant to join our team based in Dunsandel which is an excellent location close to Christchurch. You will be assisting with leading a team and milking 850 cows. This will be on a rotating roster of 6 days on and 2 days off.  You will be a team player, have strong pasture management knowledge and a genuine desire to achieve the farms goals. The main responsibilities of this role include… Animal Care – feeding, milking, health checks, seasonal tasks (calving, mating).
