This role will involve milking and feeding cows, understanding the principles of animal health, good understanding of animal husbandry, pasture management and general farm maintenance. To be successful in this role, you will need to have at least 2-3 years previous experience on a NZ dairy farm and industry qualifications are an advantage . We are looking for a staff member who fits in our team and way of working. You must have at least 3 years' experience as herd manager.  You have great 👍skills and are willing to learn. Our tidy farm: 680 cows, 54 bales rotary, acr's, automatic teatspray, in shed feeding. Rolling/steep farm so you must be confident to ride a farm bike 🏍 SAFE. You must be in NZ to apply for this position - we are not an accredited employer! We have an opportunity for a Farm Assistant on our farm in Rotoorangi – 10 minutes from Cambridge. We milk 650 cows in a modern 50-bale rotary, running two herds. Our farm is relatively flat with the odd rolling hill. We use cow manager ear tags for heat and health detection and automatic drafting. In this role you will assist in the day to day running of the farm including milk and shed hygiene, effluent irrigation, break fencing, general maintenance and repairs and other farm duties.
