We are on the lookout for two staff members to join our small team based 20 minutes out of invercargill in Southland My partner and I contract milk two farms two minutes apart milking 420 spring calving friesian cows on each farm. We are looking for a 2ic and a farm assistant for the upcoming season starting June the 1st. Though we would be happy for someone to start earlier than this. Both farms have excellent infrastructure and machinery including a 40 aside herring-bone and 50 bail rotary sheds with acrs, in shed feeding and automated wash and drafting systems. Both farms also utilise wintering barns/feed pads and are maintained to a very high standard. We are very passionate about our stock and strive for the best results. We are looking for our next superstar to join our team, you will work alongside the contract milker and 2ic milking 600 cows through our 27 aside twin pit herringbone shed with protrack and cow manager tags.1 to 2 years experience is preferred but training can be provided if you have the right attitude and willingness to learn. Your key duties would be but aren't limited to, helping with the day-to-day operations of the dairy farm, ensuring the smooth running of tasks related to milking, feeding, animal care, and farm maintenance. Due to unforeseen circumstances our small family farm requires a farm assistant to support us this coming season, starting with calving time in August 2026.  Having run the farm over the past eight seasons as a husband & wife duo (plus kids), we're looking for someone to support us in the running of the dairying operation. Consisting of a range of typical dairy farm duties/jobs; including, but not limited to, milking sole-charge, able to work independently, operating a four-wheel motorbike, putting up fences etc. Hours ranging from 20-40 hours per week.
