This role requires the successful applicant to maintain shed hygiene, monitor animal health, reliable and be able to adhere to milk quality standards. 

Due to genuine reasons, our client is looking for a manager or experienced 2IC to help run their 300 cow dairy farm near Tuatapere. Ideally we want someone who has a great attitude and the confidence and experience to make on farm decisions on a daily basis. You will have support from the owners and their team, and the farm has recently installed Halter. Excellent animal health and feeding skills are essential, as well as the ability to operate tractors and machinery. We value health and safety and great communication. Are you looking for variety in your tractor driving/fencing work day?  No week will ever be the same; with three dairy platforms, two run offs, and a cut and carry unit to keep you busy. As our business grows we simply have too much work for one person, so we need you. We are looking for someone with proven experience fencing and tractor driving. You must be a self starter, have initiative and be able to work unsupervised.    Work will be Monday - Friday, although depending on the workload some Saturday work required may be required. Remuneration will be mutually agreed upon depending on experience and skill levels. Work will start as a Fixed Term role with the possibility of progressing to a Permanent Full Time role. Accommodation is available. Location is great. The farms are centrally located, approx. 1hr45 to Queenstown, 1 hour to Te Anau.

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Calf Rearer for a fixed-term position from October 2026 to April 2027. This role is with a rural contracting and dairy support business caring for approximately 550 R1 and 550 R2 young stock, as well as around 30 R1 beef animals. Previous calf-rearing or young-stock experience is preferred but not essential. The successful candidate will need to have a genuine interest in animal care and welfare, be observant and reliable, and be willing to learn and follow the farm’s animal health and management procedures.
