Hi there, We are looking for a team member to join us as milk harvester/farm hand to join us for the new season. This role ideally would suit a drive-in, but a small self contained 1 bedroom cabin may be able to be organised. In that case, will suit a single person only, NO Families We are based 10-15 minutes east of Tokoroa. Role can be tailored to suit the right applicant and is being created to help ease the workload of the team over early spring time in particular, then the rest of the seasons work. Roster 4 on 3 off *Drive in, otherwise potential 1 bedroom self-contained cabin could be available. 

We milk 420-430 Friesian cows through a new 50 bale rotary shed, located 5 minutes east of Eltham. We require someone for August - October to help out over the busy Spring time period, somone who is passionate about farming and who is keen to learn more about the industry. You will be required to undertake and be involved in general farming duties including milking, dairy hygiene, weed control, animal health, feeding out and general maintenance. You must be honest and reliable, and have excellent time management skills. Our team is made up of 3 full time workers (employer included). Time off will be every second weekend. We are looking for someone to join the team for the busy calving, mating and holiday periods (August - January). This role will provide additional support to our permanent team by undertaking tasks such as milking, calf rearing, weed management and other general farm tasks.  We run a 6 on/2 off roster and can provide  tidy single bedroom accommodation. We can offer a good hourly rate, a well experienced, supportive team that is willing to help and train someone new to the industry. 

Please note This is a RENT IN MILK (This role is for someone who can work in return for the value of house rent) position. Not suitable for someone on employer specific work visa or someone who wants a fulltime work. Milking in Herringbone shed, bringing cows, winding up fence, weed spraying and helping out staff with other farm duties.
