The role We are looking for experienced calf rearers to take full responsibility for calf rearing within a structured research project. This is a hands-on role where your focus will be the day-to-day care, health, and performance of calves, while also supporting accurate data collection for the trial. Ad lib calf feeding system.  Role includes; Teaching new calves to drink, filling up ad lib feeders, checking calf hygiene. 2 hours a day. 8am-10am daily. Approx start: 22nd July until 1st of October 2026.

Luscombe Farm Partnership is requiring a Relief Milker / Calf Rearer. The calf rearing position will commence mid July through to approximately mid September where you will be required to work with one other person and alone on some occasions.  We will be rearing around 130 heifer calves as well as beef calves. Hours will be discussed with the successful applicant. The relief milking position will be on an on-call basis and will be an ongoing position on farm milking 580 cows in a 60 bale rotary shed.   You must be reliable and fit and able to start work in July.  Must have a NZ working Visa and reside in NZ.
