Due to unforeseen circumstances we are looking for someone to join us on our Dairy Farm near Morrinsville. We are milking 300 crossbred cows on 107ha 15 minutes North of Morrinsville. We have a brand new 30 aside herringbone cowshed with automatic cup removers and auto yard wash. There is a tidy 3 bedroom home available. The farm is grass based with grass and grass silage as the main feeds so this is a great place to learn excellent pasture management. We do about 110,000kgMS per year and typically go OAD in January each year. We aim for best practice in every area especially cow health, incalf rates, SCC and youngstock rearing. We rear ~70 replacement calves and they stay on farm until 1st May. This is a great opportunity to work with the farm owners and set yourself up for a great career in dairying. Drive-in milker/farm assistant who can milk as part of a 2-person team in the mornings through a  herringbone shed with cup removers. Additional tasks as required such as bringing in cows & setting up fences. Potentially extra hours available for pm milkings, fencing, tree felling/wood cutting, weed control etc. This role would also be suitable for an ambitious trainee with a desire and passion to develop the skills necessary for a career in dairy farming. We require someone with a very good understanding of the day to day running of an efficient dairy farm. Protract, Alflex cow collars, Animal Health, Feeding silage Grass Management.  Excellent farm facilities, modern 60 bale rotary shed.
