We milk 650 cows on 259 ha of flat terrain through a 54‑bail rotary DeLaval shed with digital monitoring tools . We are looking for an relief milker for a 750 cow farm located 10 minutes east of Ashburton. This is a casual drive in position and experience in milking is required as it is a high producing herd, being milked through a 1 person shed. The cows are being milked through a 54 bale rotary with acr and auto teatspray. The roster will be covering the other staffs days off, and will be 4 days on, 6 days off, with the occasional 6 days on, 4 days off, the high producing herd takes around 4 hours to milk in the morning and around 3 hours in the afternoon. Starting times are 5am and 2.30pm. Other duties will include general farm maintance such as fencing, cleaning and tidying.

The Farm: 50 bale rotary shed, ACRs, in shed feeding, auto teat spray, drafting gate & Halter. TAD milking roughly 6 months of the year, 3 in 2 milkings roughly 6 months of year (5am & 7pm day 1, then 11am day 2) 300 spring calvers, 50 autumn calvers Flexible hours/days. Could be 3 on 4 off, or 6 on 8 off, for example. Minimum 2 days per week as an average, maximum 3.5 days per week as an average. Recently renovated 3-bedroom house available on farm for $200 per week. $255 paid per day for 7 hours worked
