We have two positions available for Dairy Farm Assistants on dairy farms in the Waimate area. One position is based on a 1300-cow robotic milking farm, and the second is based on a conventional rotary milking shed farm. Experience is preferred but not required. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: - Milking cows using rotary or robotic milking systems - shifting cows and feeding  - fencing, weed control - calving, calf rearing - shed cleaning and setup - identifying and alerting managers to sick cows - Setting fences - and other general farm duties. The house is $360 per week for rent and 12 hours of labor at $30 per hour covers this cost. There may be times where additional hours are needed outside of the 12 hours per week where an hourly rate will be paid. The hourly rate is $30 and we require you to be available 2 days a week for 6 hours per day.  This role would suit a single person who has other part time/casual work or a couple where one partner is able to work 12 hours to cover rent.  The home is a 3 bedroom cottage with a log burner and a newly renovated kitchen and bathroom.
