Alsmere Farm is a 183ha effective milking platform, milking 550 cows through an efficient 36-aside herringbone. The farm operates a hybrid milking system, utilising both twice-a-day (TAD) and once-a-day (OAD) milking, with 30% of the herd OAD for the majority of the season.   We run a predominantly pasture-based system, supported by the strategic use of supplements. The majority of cows are wintered off-farm as well as all the young stock post-weaning. We are looking for a experienced herd manager to join us for the coming season. You must have one year or more NZ dairy farm experience. Jobs include all basic farm work and some responsibilities around animal health, milk quality, pasture management, tractor work, farm maintenance etc. You must be reliable and smoke/ drug free with a valid driver license. salary package based on applicant capabilities.
