Located near Te Awamutu, we are a system 3-4 farm milking 750 cows through a 50-rotary. We are progressive in our farming practices, have modern facilities & machinery, and have good on-farm systems. We are seeking experienced (minimum 3 years) Assistant Herd Manager to join our team who have a passion for working with animals, have good communication, and are keen to progress in the farming industry, including undertaking Primary ITO studies. The position of assistant herd manager is designed to assist the farm manager in the overall running of the farm. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested, and developing, including: milking twice a day; shifting cows and feeding; fencing, weed control; calving, calf rearing; shed cleaning and setup; - the ability to identify mastitis, lame cows, and generally sick cows - setting fences - effluent spreading and learning how the system runs; - being able to follow instructions, communicate, and work as part of a team....
