We have 2 positions available for calf rearers near Rangiora. We have 1300 cows and rear 350 replacements in total over 2 farms. The focus is on attention to detail and healthy replacement and bobby calves as well as running an efficient calf rearing system. All roles require a strong, physically capable person able to handle calves. The farms are 1km from Rangiora. We are seeking a highly meticulous individual to assume the leadership role of Calf Rearer, supported by our existing farm personnel. This position entails the rearing of approximately 150 replacement heifer calves and 150 beef calves across two adjacent farms with twice-daily feeding responsibilities. The engagement is scheduled to commence on July 20th and conclude in October. The ideal work schedule for this role is a 6:1 rotation, including Sundays off. Looking for a calf rearer to assist us over calving (1 July - 15 October). Will need to be confident and capable. Previous experience is preferred but the position can easily be learnt by someone willing. This position will involve rearing approximately 200 calves (milk, meal, hay and water) plus feeding bobbies.
