We have 2 positions available for calf rearers near Rangiora. We have 1300 cows and rear 350 replacements in total over 2 farms. The focus is on attention to detail and healthy replacement and bobby calves as well as running an efficient calf rearing system. All roles require a strong, physically capable person able to handle calves. The farms are 1km from Rangiora. Accommodation is available for all positions if required.   1.      Lead calf rearer – this person will be responsible for the calf rearing team and be involved with planning with the farm manager. This role requires proven experience with calf rearing and an ability to work with staff. Calf Rearing position We are located in Tisbury 5-minute drive from south Invercargill. We will be rearing approximately 250-300 replacement calves with the rest going to bobbies. You will be working alongside an awesome team. Ideally the candidate will have experience calf rearing, a good attitude and the ability to work efficiently unsupervised. We are looking for a drive in Calf Rearer/Relief milker for this current season 2026, from July til September with possible on-going work with Relief Milking throughout the year. Must have good experience in calf rearing, 1 farm has 200 and the 2nd farm has 260 spring calving cows. We are looking for someone to take the lead as a calf rearer, with assistance from our other farm staff. We will be rearing approximately 150 replacement heifer calves plus a few beef calves across two neighbouring farms. Position to start 13th July, for about 10 weeks.  Ideally a 6 : 1 position with Sundays off. There is also a possibility of taking on some relief milkings through the rest of the season if desired. Taking care of our soil, protecting it from any damage and nutrient loss. Working on your own and with other staff, following instructions, and contributing to improving a positive workplace.  Keeping our pastures weed free, grubbing and spraying weeds. Improving the farm presentation, cleaning dairy shed, mowing or spraying areas that don't get grazed, fencing ect. Helping with livestock feeding and any other chores related to the care of our animals.

The role is split between two rotary dairy sheds and includes milking duties along with general day-to-day farm tasks.
