We are looking for a farm assistant to join our team, with at least 1 years of experience on dairy farm. Apart from the knowledge build up previously if you show you are passionate about the industry, have the right attitude and willingness to keep learning and work hard then you will be considered for the role. We contract milk 1350 cows in Bankside with Halter collar system. We milk through two sheds of 44 aside herringbone. In this moment one of the sheds has Protrack and in shed feed system. The successful applicant will be part of a six person team with support from the Contract Milkers. Your duties would eventually include all aspects of dairy farming including the following (but not limited to): Maintain fencing and water supply in a good working condition. Due to our overseas agri students finishing there practical work we have a great opportunity as herd manager. We oversee a group of four dairy farms. We have 2 positions available for calf rearers near Rangiora. We have 1300 cows and rear 350 replacements in total over 2 farms. The focus is on attention to detail and healthy replacement and bobby calves as well as running an efficient calf rearing system. All roles require a strong, physically capable person able to handle calves. The farms are 1km from Rangiora. Accommodation is available for all positions if required.   1.      Lead calf rearer – this person will be responsible for the calf rearing team and be involved with planning with the farm manager.
