We have an opportunity for a casual staff member to help us on our two farms over the calving and mating period (July-Dec). We have two dairy farms both running 300 cows located 10mins North of Morrinsville. The role will mainly involve milking and some small duties either side of milking like collecting cows or cleaning up. The hours will be roughly 20-30hrs per week and are to help during the days staff are rostered off, you will most likely be working directly with the farm owner. We are looking for a Dairy Farm Assistant to work on a 440-cow farm in Huntly west, milking through a 34cups HB shed. While previous experience is preferred, it is not required for this role. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: Milking twice a day shifting cows and feeding  fencing, weed control calving, calf rearing shed cleaning and setup identifying and alerting managers to sick cows setting fences operating farm machinery and other general farm duties. Candidates are required to provide good related references.  To be considered you must: provide a CV which is current, correct and complete or alternative evidence of work . be a solid worker and with good character (where possible, we will do a criminal check) be physically fit be able to pass a pre-employment drug test have at least a restricted driver licence
