We have an Assistant Manger Role on our dairy farm near Rangiora. We milk 650 cows through a 44 a-side herringbone cowshed.  The role involves supporting the operations manager to achieve the farm's production and profit goals through day to day operations and to follow good animal health, welfare and environmental guidelines. Skills required include: Excellent stockmanship skills A good understanding of animal health, nutrition and welfare and the factors that affect these parameters. Experience with calving and milking on a similar size or larger scale to our farm Practical farm operation skills and experience Competent use of farm equipment and vehicles A good understanding of compliance requirements and a willingness to implement these on farm Excellent shed operation skills Excellent record keeping skills Very good time management skills and excellent prioritization skills Excellent problem solving skills At least two years experience in the dairy...
