We are looking for a Dairy Farm Assistant to work on a 650 and 550-cow farm in the Oamaru area, milking through a 50-bail rotary shed and 40 AS Herringbone shed. While previous experience is preferred, it is not required for this role. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: Milking twice a day shifting cows and feeding  fencing, weed control calving, calf rearing shed cleaning and setup identifying and alerting managers to sick cows setting fences operating farm machinery and other general farm duties. Weekly hours are a minimum of 35 and a maximum of 50. Since farm work is dependent on a number of unknown factors like weather and animals, any hours worked beyond the agreed maximum in a fortnightly pay period will be paid at the agreed overtime rate. We are looking for our next superstar to join our team, you will work alongside the contract milker and 2ic milking 600 cows through our 27 aside twin pit herringbone shed with protrack and cow manager tags.1 to 2 years experience is preferred but training can be provided if you have the right attitude and willingness to learn. Your key duties would be but aren't limited to, helping with the day-to-day operations of the dairy farm, ensuring the smooth running of tasks related to milking, feeding, animal care, and farm maintenance.
