Due to circumstantial changes we are looking for a farm manager or a 2ic. We calve around 480 cows and milk them through a 40 a side herringbone with cup removers, auto teat spray, inshed feeding, protrac and alflex collars. We are fully irrigated with pivot, fixed grid an a small bit of kline which is getting converted to fixed grid hopefully before next season. Effluent is spread through the pivot.  Last season we achieved 600kgms/cow and 2320kgms/ha with 1700kg/cow supplement bought onto the farm. As a very high producing unit our attention to detail is key in all aspects of the business so would suit someone who is always striving for better. The farm owners live on farm and are hands on for now so there is al ot of support around to help you progress to your next step. We’re on the lookout for a motivated Dairy Farm Assistant to join our friendly team on a 650 and 550-cow farm. Experience is preferred but not required for this role.  We milk through a 50-bail rotary shed and 40 AS Herringbone shed and offer a wide variety of daily tasks to keep you learning and engaged, including: Milking (twice a day) Shifting cows & feeding out Fencing & general maintenance Weed control Calving & calf rearing Shed cleaning & setup Spotting sick cows & alerting the manager and other general farm duties Weekly hours are a minimum of 35 and a maximum of 50. Since farm work is dependent on a number of unknown factors like weather and animals, any hours worked beyond the agreed maximum in a fortnightly pay period will be paid   at the agreed overtime rate. The schedule may vary; Roster will be 6 days on, 2 days off throughout the year. Salary is $68,000 - $77,000 per annum, depending on experience....
