Due to unforeseen circumstances we are looking for someone to join us on our Dairy Farm near Morrinsville. We are milking 300 crossbred cows on 107ha 15 minutes North of Morrinsville. We have a brand new 30 aside herringbone cowshed with automatic cup removers and auto yard wash. There is a tidy 3 bedroom home available. The farm is grass based with grass and grass silage as the main feeds so this is a great place to learn excellent pasture management. We do about 110,000kgMS per year and typically go OAD in January each year. We aim for best practice in every area especially cow health, incalf rates, SCC and youngstock rearing. We are seeking an experienced farm worker (2+ years) for an Assistant Farm Manager position on an 850-cow farm located in the Morrinsville area. The farm is approximately 30 minutes from Paeroa and 22 minutes from Ngatea, milking through a 50 Aside Herringbone shed. You'll have a range of responsibilities including the day-to-day management support including: - Milking - Shed Management - Animal Husbandry and Production - Animal Health Monitoring, Management and Treatment - Pasture and fodder Management - Maintenance of Shed, Equipment and Machinery - Breeding, Calving and Calf rearing Management - Cattle transportation - Staff Management - and other general farm duties.
