We are requiring a new person to join our team for the 26/27 season.  This position could be good for someone who is a farm assistant looking to move to a herd manager position. You will need to have a minimum of 2.5 years of Nz dairy experience, preferably on large herd farms.  Our farm is situated halfway between Methven and Ashburton.  We are fully irrigated and run a 54 bail shed. The job will include: Getting cows in and milking them Setting up break fences Must be confident in all aspects on animal health—detecting mastitis, treating lame cows etc Be able to drive a tractor, more training will be given Assist with calving cows Have great shed hygiene and general farm tidiness Basic pasture management and willing to learn more Have great stock sense Able to help with young stock Must be confident on a 2 or 4 wheel motorbike Preferably have completed some AGITO papers or similar qualifications. Permanent - Full Time   Our beautiful 160Ha farm is located on flat land and just a 5 mins drive to Methven town centre, where there are excellent schools, cafes and supermarkets etc and with Mt Hutt right on our doorstep if you enjoy winter sports.   Milking our beautiful 630 cows through a 60-bail rotary with ACR and auto drafting, we will expect you to have strong production experience and you must also be at the top of your game when it comes to shed hygiene and animal health and wellbeing, as well as being a capable tractor driver, so a minimum of 2 to 3 years’ experience here in NZ is essential.   Offering a good healthy work life balance, we work on a 6/2 roster all year round and we have a lovely modern 2-bedroom home located on farm, we are offering a salary of between $30 to $35 per hour including $200 per week for accommodation.    We offer a minimum of 30 hours per week.   In return we will expect you to be able to hit the ground the running...
