This is a full-time position with a start time during October. The duration is currently unknown, it could be a temporary role during the development stage but could be permanent after its complete for the right candidate. Accommodation is included. We run a 1000 cow dairy farm located in Duntroon (30mins inland of Oamaru) however this job is for the adjourning block that we are are developing from October onwards. No milking is required for this role. Duties include: Tractor work, irrigation fittings, post driving, removing fences, new fencing and some general cattle work. Plenty of variety! Top 400 cows twice a day, the rest once a day morning only, everything once a day March to end of May. We have a system that allows for not getting cows in, they walk themselves to milking while the coffees being drunk. Calves are grazed off farm from January till they return in May the following year as in calf. All ground work is done in house so plenty of tractor work available. We are looking for a permanent staff member to jump aboard our team once our Scottsman's visa has run out in November. Preferably chasing a character that knows how to jump into battle when the busy time is on. Must have a can do attitude and be willing to get their hands dirty, be able to laugh and have a genuine interest in dairy farming. 3 bedroom house with log burner. Firewood available on farm.
