About the Role We are looking for a fulltime farm assistant to join our team on our 200ha dairy farm based in Mamaku, which is situated 20 minutes west of Rotorua, 35 minutes from Tirau. We milk a 570 Kiwi Cross spring calving herd twice a day from end of July to early June, through a 60 aside herringbone shed. You would be working alongside us, the 50/50 sharemilkers and our 2IC. Due to unforeseen circumstances we are looking for someone to join us on our Dairy Farm near Morrinsville. We are milking 300 crossbred cows on 107ha 15 minutes North of Morrinsville. We have a brand new 30 aside herringbone cowshed with automatic cup removers and auto yard wash. There is a tidy 3 bedroom home available. The farm is grass based with grass and grass silage as the main feeds so this is a great place to learn excellent pasture management. We do about 110,000kgMS per year and typically go OAD in January each year. We aim for best practice in every area especially cow health, incalf rates, SCC and youngstock rearing. We rear ~70 replacement calves and they stay on farm until 1st May. This is a great opportunity to work with the farm owners and set yourself up for a great career in dairying.
