Due to a change in circumstances we are looking for 2x team members from the beginning of September to join our team full time. We milk 750 cows through a modern 54 bail rotary that is centrally located. Our roster is 6 days on 1 day off over calving with the remaining season 6 days on 2 days off. Accommodation available is: 1x large 4 bedroom house with a heatpump & gas hot water 1x small 2 bedroom cottage with a heatpump We are not accredited employers so you must have the legal right to work in NZ. We have a position available for Dairy Herd Manager role on our 1100-cow farm. The position is based in Mokoreta area in New Zealand. This is full-time, permanent position guaranteeing at least 30 hours of work per week, but you will usually work between 30 to 40 hours per week. The pay rate is $26 per hour. We are seeking an experienced farm worker (2+ years) to work as a Herd Manager on a 740-cow operation across two farms in the Wyndham area. The farm is located approximately 45 minutes from Invercargill and milks through a 25 Aside Herringbone shed. You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: Milking and monitoring milk quality, training junior staff, stock handling and feeding (feed mgt), fencing, weed control, calving, calf rearing, shed maintenance & preparation, tractor operation for feeding out, baling, mowing and silage monitoring, recording and maintaining animal health and other general farm duties. Weekly hours are a minimum of 30 and a maximum of 60. Since farm work is dependent on a number of unknown factors like weather and animals, any hours worked beyond the agreed maximum in a fortnightly pay period will be paid at the agreed overtime rate. Understands and takes responsibility for daily tasks such as running of the dairy, effluent management and feeding. Completes tasks with minimal supervision and can supervise and train other staff.
