Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are looking for someone to start 15th July, 5 minutes from Woodville, 15 min from Palmerston North,  700 cows' fully self contained with a beef calf rearing operation on the side.l Split calving 600 Spring 100 Autumn All youngstock on farm, 2 cow sheds 18aside and 37 aside at different ends of the farm,  In-Shed feeding in both sheds 37 aside has ACR's, Auto teat spray and Auto draft. We have halter collars on all cows, (our 4th season with Halter) Brand new house (2 years old) 3 bedrooms plus office, We are award winning operators; our current full-time staff have been with us for 8 and 9 years respectively.  We will cater this position depending on experience, farm assistant to herd manager.  We encourage and support ITO training, and for the right person there will be future opportunities to progress within our business.

Our 2 beautiful farms are set on 140 Ha of flat land located just 20 mins from Reefton and 40 mins from the hustle and bustle of Greymouth.   There is so much to do around here on your days off and we have excellent schools in the area.   Our smaller farm has 400 cows that we milk through a 26 ASHB shed which we are now in need of a good herd manager for.   We have milking down pat; it takes us 2 hours from start to finish.   Animal Health and welfare is extremely high on our list of priorities, and we have installed collars so, having experience with this kind of technology will be a great advantage.   You must have at least 2 to 3 years’ experience and you must be capable of driving a tractor and feeding out as well as having some knowledge of pasture management.   You may already be a 2IC on a big farm and are looking to downsize or you are a herd manager now but looking to take the next step, we are not really too worried as full training will be given....

We are split calving 900 cows on flat terrain with the addition of inshed feeders, covered feed pad, mixer wagon and have recently signed up to halter for milkers and dry stock.
