An opportunity is available for an experienced and motivated Herd Manager on a progressive dairy farm located approximately 20km southeast of Te Awamutu. The Farm 270ha dairy operation 800 cows milked (150 autumn calving, 650 spring calving) 50-bale rotary shed with cup removers and meal feeder Annual on-farm Jersey bull sale held each September All young stock retained on farm Very well-maintained property with excellent systems in place The Role You will work alongside the farm owners and team, taking responsibility for the day-to-day management of the herd and assisting with the smooth operation of the farm. This is a hands-on position that requires a strong work ethic, particularly through calving and other busy periods. We have an opportunity to join our team milking 20 mins from Otorohanga. We require someone with at least 18 months of continuous NZ farming experience with references.  The successful applicant will be motivated, honest and committed to going the extra mile. Job Description MILKING: Manages milk harvesting to optimise quality and efficiency ANIMALS Assists in diagnoses and treatment of all animal health issues and demonstrates best practice.  PEOPLE Work well in a team. Mentors junior staff if required FEED Participates in feeding cows and calves and discusses appropriate management with senior staff PLEASE NOTE: As part of our Company health and safety policy we do undertake initial and routine drug testing A clean criminal history is required.  Strictly no pets To be considered, you MUST provide an up-to-date CV  Minimum 30 hours per week Maximum 45 hours per week Roster 12 on 2 off
