We require an honest reliable Herd Manager to join our team in Southland. 2 years experience  or a qualification Level 4 or above required . Understands and takes responsibility for daily tasks such as running of the dairy, effluent management and feeding. Completes tasks with minimal supervision and can supervise and train other staff. Looks for opportunities to work more effectively and efficiently to improve the business.   Duties include but not limited to Milking: Manages an efficient and hygienic milking routine Animals: Manages safe handling of animals, records, reports and treat, any health issue   Feed: Controls weeds. Sets break fences and feeds out as directed. Environment: Assists with nutrients, effluent and water management People: Manages junior farm staff. Works well with others, building a strong team culture Machinery Vehicles and Technology: Safely uses and maintains plant and farm vehicles. Pay rate is $30 - $35 per hour....

Due to unforeseen circumstances and having two people pull out on us we are on the hunt for another person to join our small team before the upcoming calving. We are looking for an experienced herd manager. This position will be split working between two farms 2 minutes apart. Both farms run a system 4. We are extremely passionate about our stock and strive for the best results both in production and animal health as well as maintaining a general high standard of farm upkeep and tidiness. Both farms milk around 450 Friesian cows through modern 40 aside herringbone and 50 bail rotary cow sheds. Both farms are well set out with modern infrastructure utilising wintering barns and feed pads. Halter technology is utilised on both farms. You must understand and take responsibility for daily tasks such as milking following best practice and capably manages the shed in the managers absence, herd management and monitoring animal health and welfare, record keeping, treatments, calving...
