Calving down 780 cows in spring, operational facilities include: A 60-bail rotary dairy  ACR’s with auto in-bail teat spray. Pro-track drafting with in-bail ID and Allflex collar monitoring. In shed feeding (grain and molasses) with the individual feeding module. The preferred applicant will be favourable if they have: -have a minimum of 6-12 month experience in NZ farming  - have completed minimum Level 2 Dairy farming qualification - have assisted with training of junior staff - have experience with plant management - have experience with pasture management Key activities in this role with be milking cows, feed management, general care of stock, farm maintenance, stock records, staff management, health n safety and farm administration. We are looking for an experienced farm worker (2+ years) to work as a Herd Manager on a 700-cow farm in the Ashburton area. The farm is located  10-15 minutes to Ashburton, 30 minutes from Mt Hutt Ski Field and milking through a 54 Rotary Bale shed . You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including: Milking and monitoring milk quality stock handling and feeding (feed mgt), fencing, weed control, calving, calf rearing, shed maintenance & preparation, tractor operation for feeding out, baling, mowing and silage  monitoring, recording and maintaining animal health and other general farm duties. Candidates must have competent and strong in milking, centre pivot, and tractor work experience. Weekly hours are a minimum of 40 and a maximum of 50. Since farm work is dependent on a number of unknown factors like weather and animals, any hours worked beyond the agreed maximum in a fortnightly pay period...
