This is a full-time position with a start time during October. The duration is currently unknown, it could be a temporary role during the development stage but could be permanent after its complete for the right candidate. Accommodation is included. We run a 1000 cow dairy farm located in Duntroon (30mins inland of Oamaru) however this job is for the adjourning block that we are are developing from October onwards. We are looking for a Farm Assistant We are based on the Kaikoura Flat, a short 5 minute drive from Kaikoura township. We milk 950 cows through a 60 bail rotary, with twice a day milking for most of the year. The milking shed has recent technology including, Protrack, ACR’s, automatic teat spray, SCC and milk monitoring capabilities. We are targeting a driven individual that wants to develop themselves, with support of our experienced farm management team. Key aspects- ·        All aspects of milk harvesting and cleaning in the shed ·        Able to use technology such as halter ·        Identifying sick or lame cows ·        Safe use of equipment such as tractor feed out wagons ·        Control of weeds and farm maintenance The role comes with a 5 and 2 roster, and a competitive salary.
