A position has become available on Lake Heights Farms Ltd which is apart of the T.H Enterprises group. The Dry Stock Manager will be responsible for the management of the dairy support farm land. Lake Heights runs calves, heifers and bulls so can get up to 1800 head of stock. These blocks also supply silage and winter grazing to two of our dairy farms. The following are some of the tasks included in the role; - Following the animal health plan - Weighing and meeting growth targets and drenching stock - Following the fertilser plan and applications - Pasture management and feeding levels - Maintaining water supply, pest and weed control, farm and machinery maintenance etc - Following farm plans set by the Operations Manager. This position would be ideal for a working couple with duel incomes.  A couple of dogs would be useful. Applicants must have at least 5yrs farming experience and be a New Zealand resident.

JOB DESCRIPTION: We are looking for a person to assist us in the running of our three farms.   This position is based on a 240 Ha farm in Pikowai (Matata Straights, Whakatane/Tauranga boundary) with the responsibility of looking after the day to day running on this farm.   Approximately 35 min from Whakatane and 30 min from Te Puke.   The job is responsible for calving 150 cows over spring, has 150   x 2yo bulls to sell in the spring and yearling bulls.   All of the farms are primarily beef blocks, with 650 commercial and registered Hereford cows,   Hereford bulls for the dairy industry, and dairy heifer grazing of our own animals.   This farm is run in conjunction with another 480 Ha farm by the farm owner, 7km away.   There is also another 70 Ha block run by another worker.   The farms are all run together as needed and   you would be expected to work on all farms.   You would be ultimately accountable to the Farm owner.  The successful applicant MUST have prior...

We’re looking for someone who: ● Can preferably operate a tractor / skid steer and other machinery ● Is physically fit and comfortable with manual labour ● Has a strong understanding of health and safety and can follow safe work procedures ● Is reliable, practical and has a good work ethic ● Can work well as part of a team ● Holds a current driver licence ● Can pass a pre-employment drug test Experience with farming, machinery or similar physical work would be an advantage, but reliability, safety and a willingness to get stuck in are most important.
